New Year's Day 2026
Official holiday period: January 1-3, 2026
Statutory paid date: Thursday, January 1, 2026
Adjusted working date: Sunday, January 4, 2026
The official three-day break is followed by an adjusted working Sunday on January 4.
The full-year calendar distinguishes official holiday periods, 13 statutory paid holiday dates, and six adjusted working days. Use the colored labels together: a holiday period is time off, while an adjusted working date returns a weekend day to the working schedule.

Each row separates the complete official holiday period from its statutory paid dates and adjusted working dates. This prevents a multi-day break from being mistaken for the statutory-day count.

China can connect statutory holidays with nearby weekends to form longer official breaks. The annual arrangement may then designate a Saturday or Sunday as a working day. For office schedules, payroll, appointments, and transport planning, do not assume every weekend beside a holiday remains a rest day.
China has seven nationwide holiday categories for all citizens. Under the current rules, those categories contain 13 statutory paid holiday dates. The 2026 annual arrangement expands them into seven official holiday periods covering 33 calendar days in total, but that period count includes weekends and linked rest days. It should not be read as 33 additional paid statutory dates.
Spring Festival runs from February 15 to 23, while the National Day holiday runs from October 1 to 7. Confirm the linked working weekends before setting leave, transport, supplier, or customer-service dates; the longest break is not simply the statutory date range.
The national holiday schedule is the starting point, but service calendars can differ. Check bank holidays, school calendars, postal schedules, and market holidays for operating hours, term dates, delivery changes, or exchange closures.
The main file contains the seven official 2026 holiday periods. Adjusted working days are not added as holidays; use the separate workday file when you also need the six weekend work dates.
